Seven Days Across Kyrgyz Wonders
Leave the roads behind and follow a trail that leads deep into the soul of Kyrgyzstan.
From alpine silence to canyon winds, from lakes in the sky to eagle hunter shows — this handcrafted 7-day journey offers a vivid blend of wild beauty and nomadic culture. Ride through endless valleys, share meals with Kyrgyz families, sleep in yurts beneath the stars, and discover a slower, deeper way to travel.
Day 1 – The Road to the Sky
Arrival in Bishkek. After breakfast in a local restaurant, we drive into the mountains. Our first stop is Ala-Archa National Park — a peaceful alpine gorge not far from the capital. We then visit Burana Tower, a 9th-century Silk Road watchtower, before continuing toward the high-altitude lake of Song-Kol. A traditional dinner and a night in a yurt by the lake welcome you to the rhythm of nomadic life.
Day 2 – Borsok, Horses and Highland Silence
Wake up to the quiet stillness of Song-Kol. After breakfast, experience a traditional cooking demonstration where locals prepare borsok and hearty meals in a kazan over open fire. In the afternoon, take a horseback ride across the steppe, with mountains on the horizon and the scent of wild thyme in the air. Dinner is served in the yurt camp as the stars appear in full brilliance above.
Day 3 – Into the Valley of Chon-Kemin
After a final breakfast by the lake, we begin our descent into the lush Chon-Kemin Valley. The road winds through changing landscapes, from wide highlands to forested hills. By late afternoon, we arrive at a guesthouse run by a Kyrgyz family. A warm dinner and conversations over tea bring the day to a peaceful close.
Day 4 – Canyon Roads and the Southern Shore
Begin the morning with a short walk or ride through the pine forests of Chon-Kemin. Then we head east, crossing open steppe toward Issyk-Kul’s southern shore. Along the way we visit the rust-red Fairy Tale Canyon and the misty waterfalls of Barskoon. By evening, we arrive in Bokonbaevo, where a home-cooked dinner awaits and the lake breeze carries the scent of sage.
Day 5 – Eagles, Valleys and a Kyrgyz Feast
A morning of ancient traditions begins with an eagle hunting demonstration — a timeless bond between hunter and bird. Our path then follows the lake toward Jeti-Oguz and the alpine meadows of Kok-Jaiyk. As the sun dips behind the peaks, we arrive in Karakol and gather for a festive Kyrgyz feast — a dastorkon filled with warmth and flavor.
Day 6 – Stories of Karakol and the Way Back
Explore the cultural blend of Karakol, from its Dungan mosque to the wooden Orthodox church. After lunch, we begin the journey back to Bishkek, with mountain roads giving way to the quiet rhythm of the plains. Evening in the capital offers a final glimpse of modern Kyrgyz life.
Day 7 – City Scenes and Farewell Table
The final day begins with a walk through Bishkek’s leafy parks and lively bazaars. Soviet mosaics, local crafts, and the hum of the city fill the morning. We close the journey with a farewell lunch at one of Bishkek’s most beloved restaurants — a last taste of Kyrgyz hospitality before departure.
